B Corp Certified

Gold tier — Company audited — the whole business, not one product

The whole company is audited across workers, community impact, environment, and governance. Not just a product claim — the entire business model is reviewed. Score must exceed 80/200.

The quick facts

What does B Corp Certified require?

B Corp is a company-level certification: the business as a whole — governance, worker treatment, community impact, environmental practices, customer stewardship — is assessed against B Lab's B Impact Assessment, and it has to earn at least 80 of 200 points. Certified companies also take on legal accountability, amending their governing documents to consider stakeholders, not just shareholders.

Every certified company's score is published on B Lab's public directory, which is more disclosure than most labels ever offer.

Who audits it, and how often?

B Lab reviews the assessment, verifies documentation, and requires recertification every three years. It is a review of governance, policies, and published data — a company-level audit. No one walks a farm; that is not what this cert is for.

What does B Corp Certified not cover?

B Corp does not certify the product in your hand. A B Corp with conventional sourcing still has conventional farming upstream — the ingredients, the pesticides, the supply chain can all be ordinary. It tells you the company is structured to care and accountable for improving; pair it with a farm-level cert to know the product itself was grown differently.

How does GreenSpecs weight B Corp Certified?

GreenSpecs weights B Corp as a valuable company-level signal in the middle of the 20-point certifications range on its own — real, audited, renewed — but not a substitute for farm-level proof. Where it shines is in combination: USDA Organic plus B Corp means the whole company is on the hook, not just this bottle.
